Day 6 – Writing the Vision

6 Nov

Where do great book ideas come from? I’m convinced that great book ideas pour from a place deep within us, but are solidified by our external experiences. I started writing Wife 101 after spending about a month studying Proverbs 31. In conversations with friends about relationships, I began to realize that as women, sometimes we behave opposing to our desires for long-term commitment. I considered the mistakes made by myself and others. The results of all of these efforts was the idea of writing a novel about becoming the kind of woman any man (in his right mind) would want to marry.

If you are a writer searching for a new idea that will become the next good read, start your search within. Ask yourself: What do I know a lot about? What am I interested in? What have I been through that others could relate to? What have I seen or done that could be  integrated into a story or lesson.

Next, look at the world around you. Whose story still needs to be told? What issues are important to you that others seem to be clueless about? Remember, there is nothing new under the sun, but there are new ways to bring information to literature that has yet to be done or done successfully. Whatever you see with your spiritual lenses, write the vision, and watch your vision become your next book.

Again I am impressed and thinking that you need to find another vehicle to get your blog noticed. You’re writing good stuff.
